Krimml waterfalls and water wonder world

34 km - a day trip to a monumental building from the 1940s is also one of the highlights in the Salzburg region.


Großglockner - High Alpine Road

crossing the Alps over the Glockner is definitely an unforgettable experience for everyone. Visit the multi-media museum at 2,600 meters and Franz-Josefs-Höhe with a view of the Pasterze (Austria's largest glacier) and Großglockner.


Ice Caves

A cave system in the Salzburg Limestone Mountains with bizarre and impressive ice elements. In freezing temperatures you can admire mighty ice sculptures, the creator of which was not an artist but nature itself. The cave was only discovered at the beginning of the last century.


Werfen Castle
The 900-year-old Hohenwerfen Fortress towers high above the Salzach Valley, between the Tennen and Hagen Mountains. A variety of entertainment and offers awaits the visitor. From castle tours including weapons exhibition, a knight's shop to the historic state falcon yard with daily flight demonstrations to the 1st Austrian falconry museum with raptor educational trail.

Saalachtal forces of nature

Within a few kilometers you will find 3 nature experiences in the area of Weißbach bei Lofer.
In 1831, grooms built a drift route through the 600 m long Seisenberg Gorge to transport wood.
The Vorderkaserklamm was first made accessible to visitors in 1882 and is 400 m long and only 80 cm wide at the narrowest points.
With a total extension of around 51 kilometers, the Lamprechtshöhle is one of the largest cave systems in Europe. The Lamprechtshöhle is currently the largest passage cave in the world.


Exhibition mine and mining museum Leogang

In the mining museum, the former administrator's house in Hütten, visitors can expect numerous stories and history from every step of the region's historic mining.
